In April 2004, two long-standing and very well respected local practices - Hawthorn House and Shieldfield Health Centre - merged to form Thornfield Medical Group. We remain spread over two sites, one at the Shieldfield Centre and the other at the Molineux Street NHS Centre.

Opening Times
Molineux Street
8.30am until 6.30pm - Mondays and Fridays
7.30am until 8.00pm - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
We close for 1 hour at 12.30pm on Thursdays to allow for staff training.
Shieldfield Surgery
8.45am until 5.15pm - Monday to Friday
We close each day for 1 hour at 12.30pm.

Disabled Access
Access To Molineux Street Surgery
Our surgery has reserved car parking spaces for the disabled near the front door. Wheelchair access to the building is via a ramp at the front entrance. A disabled patient’s WC is provided near the front entrance and another is available within the surgery.
Access To Our Shieldfield Surgery
Disabled access is via both the ground level Clarence Walk entrance or via the Stoddart Street entrance using the lift.
Accessible toilets are provided at Shieldfield.
If access proves difficult to any of our disabled patients we would be happy to consider any suggestions for improvement.
