Out Of Hours

Outside of surgery hours your call will be directed to the out-of-hours service covering the surgery. Telephone the usual surgery number 0191 275 5740. Newcastle PCT is responsible for commissioning these services and Northern Doctor Urgent Care are contracted to provide cover at night and at weekends. You are unlikely to speak to your own GP out of hours.

Emergencies

If you are confronted by a serious problem such as acute chest pain, an alarming shortness of breath, symptoms suggestive of a stroke (www.nhs.uk/actfast), or severe bleeding, call an ambulance (tel: 999). DO NOT WASTE VALUABLE TIME CALLING THE SURGERY.
